Located at 1355 H St NE, the Biergarten Haus serves authentic German food and beer in a charming setting.

Since opening in early June, the Biergarten Haus has been extremely busy--first, showing every World Cup game around the clock, and second keeping up with the scores of curious Capitol Hill neighbors checking it out!

Aaron McGovern
A Washington-metropolitan resident for more than 30 years, Aaron has a great appreciation for the unique character of this city. His career in the restaurant business began in his teens when he worked for an area catering company. Aaron’s entrepreneurial spirit led him into other industries including real estate and advertising. Aaron continues as a partner in a family residential real estate company in northern Virginia.

After serving his country in the first Gulf War, Aaron joined the growing team of advertising executives at USA TODAY. While he enjoyed a very successful career at USA TODAY serving such clients as the U.S. Postal Service and Century 21, his true passion proved to be the restaurant business. In the mid 1990’s Aaron met his current business partner and the two began to plan for what is now the Russia House Restaurant & Lounge and Biergarten Haus.

Arturas "Jeepo" Vorobjovas
A native of a small seaport town on the coast of the Baltic Sea (Klaipeda, Lithuania), Jeepo has always had a passion for traditional Russian cuisine. Inspired by the excellent cooking of his father, Jeepo decided at an early age that he wanted to work in the restaurant industry. Prior to coming to the United States, Jeepo traveled throughout Europe competing as a member of Lithuania’s martial arts national team. A few bumps and bruises later and with the support of his family, Jeepo made his way to the United Sates in 1994.

Early in his professional career, he worked for the national restaurant chain, the California Pizza Kitchen. It was there that he learned the business and fine-tuned the business plan that resulted in the opening of the Russia House Restaurant & Lounge and Biergarten Haus.
